One of the major peculiarities of  Online /internet/Digital Marketing or Business and Money making on internet / Online (as is variously called) is the very heavy ‘information overload’, tending to overwhelm& submerge the Newbies. Bombarded with E-mails offering Free material (Mostly on a/c of ease& virtually no cost, being Digital materials ).Newbies not sure of what is relevant /usable and not wanting to miss out on free material, spend enormous amount of time& effort in downloading, may not even be able to go through them later.

One important reason for this is, newbies have not set their priorities right on what they intend doing and hence the lack of clarity. Hence they end-up spending enormous amount of money, effort& time buying all and sundry taken in by the tall claims for the fear of  missing something unknown, though the products are mostly never fully understood, from the sketchy presentations.

1) For Entrepreneurs& Start-ups wanting to start an online/internet/Digital business

2) For existing business, using online/Internet /Digital marketing to generate traffic/visitors/ customers for business

3) For those with the sole idea of making money online either as Full time/ additional/Passive income

Newbies should first decide where do they fit in.

If the option is (1)-starting a online business, concentration should be on communications which gives rise to a  business idea or can be converted in to a business and avoid communications with focus on money making online,

or focusing essentially on Traffic/ List building/ e-mail marketing/ traffic through Social media (even though  this may be relevant later on let the initial concentration be on right business idea with potential )

If your option is (2) –Existing business, concentrate on information flow relating to List building/ E-mail marketing using Auto-Responders /Social media traffic etc.

If your option is (3)- pure Making money online, after a general overall understanding of online money making concepts and options, narrow it down to 2 or 3 areas of your comfort, thereafter focus only on information specific to that . So many others may sound interesting even at this stage, shut them out of your mind& reach.

STARTING SOMETHING SMALL OR BIG(PREFERABLY SMALL) IS VERY CRITICAL FOR YOUR CONFIDENCE,  RESTRICTING  UNNECESSARY SPENDING,DISSIPATION OF TIME AND EFFORT AND YOU CAN WIDEN YOUR NET AFTER REASONABLE, PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE IN THE  INDUSTRY.

1)If you are not a ‘TECHIE’ stay away from  products with tech back-ground ,even if they claim a ‘Step by  step’/ hand-holding etc as what is remaining to be done thereafter can be Greek& Latin to you.

2) Make it a point to undergo 1 or 2 acclaimed Coaching/ Training programs to get an overall& strong foundation

On online business/Marketing/ Money making  concepts, including the mandatory technical aspects.

3)If you are a ‘TECHIE”, opting for tech products may be preferred, in view of entry barriers /less competition.  

4) Rather than being a loner, ideally enter as a small group of like minded friends with different skill sets, as apart

from ‘Cost Sharing’, you can analyse various aspects of a product in a short time, can look at multiple products at the same time and can make informed decisions. Also if the idea/ ideas/ Business clicks you do not have to run around for a team, which is a basic necessity for any venture to scale-up/ get funds etc.

5) Perhaps the simplest way to start online is becoming an affiliate through reputed &Standard sites.
